Happy First Birthday

I am so excited to be entering my first ever Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger!!  The photo below is the trigger for this week.  I was inspired by the numbers, the softer colors and the sweetness of the baby blanket. I used my Cuttlebug and  numbers embossing folder for the blue background.  I used Papertrey Ink's Doily and Number dies for my embellishment.

Let it Snow!

I must admit that I really want it to SNOW!!!  I don't want tons, but a few inches would be nice.  We didn't even have a white Christmas this year!  Today I'm playing along with the CAS-ual Friday Challenge.  I just love the sweet little snowmen in a row:)

Papertrey November Blog Hop Challenge

Hello Friends!  I love the 25th of the month when we get to have a huge Papertrey Ink bloghop. Today they shared an awesome photo (below) to be inspired by.  The photo reminds me of a traditional holiday. I'm using one of my favorite sets, Vintage Picnic and coordinating die, by Papertrey Ink.  I die cut the basket and cloth out of my dp and then I added crochet ribbon to trim the basket.  I had fun glittering the card with a gold glitter pen, red stickles, and red gems.  The fun sticker was in my Christmas stash. Be sure to see everyone's holiday goodness at the Papertrey Ink blog.

holiday wishes

Hello, Friends! I'm playing along with the JUGS challenge today to use red, green and white. Since I really need to get going on my Christmas cards, this is perfect for me:) I love this Vintage Picnic stamp and die cut set from Papertrey Ink. There are so many different images making it a set that you can use all year.
Blogger (or my new computer) has been acting up for me the last two days! I am not able to highlight or link to anything. I'm sorry about that, but if you google the JUGS challenge, you will find their blog. If anyone has any ideas for me on how to fix this, please let me know!! Thanks!

give thanks

Happy Monday! It looks like I have to install my Adobe Photoshop soon. The colors are coming out a bit murky with just the "straight to picture files." Today's card meets the CAS-ual Friday Challenge of having part of your card design go over the edge of the card. I finally figured out that with this method, I just make the card a bit smaller so that it can fit in a regular envelope. Sounds simple, but it's taken me awhile to think of it:)

happy harvest

Happy Sunday! I used the November Sketch for you to Try for the design of my card. I've had this stamp set forever and was so happy when Papertrey Ink came out with die cuts for the basket and cloth! I also tried some stitching. It's new for me. I'm just learning how to sew with paper.

Happy 50th

Hello Friends! Due to my computer crashing and having to buy and set up a new one, I've been gone awhile. Luckily I had saved all my photos and documents to an external hard drive. If you don't do that now, I'd strongly encourage you to look into it!

Today's card is for my husband's aunt and uncle who are celebrating their 50th anniversary this month. I used the CAS-ual Fridays sketch for my card design. It's a bit hard to see, but I used gold sparkly cardstock for the numbers and matting. The stamped sentiments are in gold also.

Papertrey September Blog Hop Challenge

Hello Papertrey Ink Friends! It's been a long while since I was able to participate in the blog hop and I'm so glad that I am able to today!! I was inspired by the colors and stripes in the inspiration photo (below) to create my card. I used score tape to adhere the glitter to my card. Then I used the same bright colors for my pennant. I enjoyed using these happy colors and can't wait to go blog hop and see what everyone else did!!

Eek!

Hello! Tonight's card is actually a mini 4 x 4 card for the CAS-ual Friday challenge this week. I am also entering it in the Less is More Weekly Challenge. I saw this little sweetie at Archiver's and had to get her! I think that she's more scared to be dressed up than we are to look at her, LOL!

Altered Album Cover

Good Morning! I made an album about my black lab, Abby, and this is the cover. I've been "into" banners for a while now and I wanted to make one out of fabric. I just used Memento ink to stamp right on the fabric banners. To stamp on the denim album cover, I used acrylic paint. Acrylic paint works best for me when I put some paint on a small plastic tray and then use a sponge brush to put the paint right onto the stamp.

I plan to make more banners in the future, so stay tuned:) This altered album happens to fit with the current JUGS challenge to use fabric. I will also be linking this post with some linky parties on Saturday. They are lots of fun! Stop back if you want to see where they are, I'll add them to this post.

I'm linking to these fab linky parties:

Birthday wishes

The CAS-ual Fridays Challenge for this week is to make a 4 x 9 card. I paper pieced the images and added a sticker and gems for extra bling. I decided to leave lots of white space and I'm really happy with the result. I think it draws your eyes to the focal point of the card.

sending you a little happy

Hello, Friends! I received an email today about challenges The Craft's Meow was hosting. Since I'm always looking for a good challenge (and a chance for free STAMPS) I thought I'd give two of them a try. I didn't use The Craft's Meow stamps because I just have one set that I keep using over and over! I'm going to be heading off to buy some more after my post:)

My first card is for Lucy's Lovely Lines (edited to add:) and Simply Scrapping Crafts Challenge-Banners. Lucy's Lovely Lines had a great sketch (below) that was just my style, CAS. I used Unity's May10 KOM for the pennant and sentiment. I paper pieced the pennant with scraps from Hopscotch by BasicGrey. The cloud paper is a leftover from my stash:) I used My Favorite Things medium scallop and cloud dies to create a little scene on the card.My next card is a shabby birthday card for the Simply Scrapping Crafts Challenge. Their sketch is below. I used Papertrey Ink's Mixed Messages for the sentiments on my tickets. All the rest of the card is made from bits and pieces that I've collected and hoarded,er,saved over the years. This isn't my normal style, but I had fun playing with it!

thank you

Good Morning! I was inspired to start making shape cards and this is my second one. I've used the colors of the JUGS challenge, although not a lot of gray. Gray is absent in most of my scraps, buttons, bits of ribbon and such. I do have gray ink which was so light I combined it with a light brown ink so that you could read the sentiment. There's a bit of gray in my vintage shell buttons too:) My coral looks a bit pink too...ah well! Aside from my color "challenges"....this was a fun card to make. I kept adding and setting it aside, picking it up again and adding more, etc. Sometimes that is just my favorite way to create:)

Have a GREAT day! Stay COOL!

birthday wishes

Hello Friends! Today I am playing with CAS-ual Fridays and their Sweets and Treats Challenge. The cupcake that I paper pieced is from Unity. I don't know which set because it came in a bunch of stamps that I won. It's an adorable image and easy to paper piece. The dp is from an older BasicGrey paper pad: Nook and Pantry. A scalloped edge and a simple greeting finished it off. Yea for sweet treats, especially CHOCOLATE ones:)

Happy 9th Birthday!

Today's card is for my fantastic niece who is turning 9! She loves all things glittery and I have it on good authority that her favorite colors are (in this order) - bright blue, lime green, pink and purple. I used lots of Papertrey Ink dies to create this card! I was excited to find that the limitless circles dies I have fit right inside the mat stack one die. Don't you just LOVE the holographic paper?!? It's from a small piece that I have been hoarding. For once the camera actually does it justice:) So much fun! I can't wait to see her soon:)

Back to the Blog!!

I've been MIA from my blog because of the terrible storm that we had last Monday. We didn't suffer any real damage to our property, but many people around us did. We did lose power for the whole day on Monday and didn't get our cable, internet and phone back until Thursday morning. The storm only lasted about 15 minutes, but it was so powerful and blew up very quickly. One minute it was sunny and then it was black. I took the picture below of a tree in our subdivision that was uprooted. The trunk snapped 24 inches below the surface! Luckily no one was hurt and there was no real damage to the house. I happen to be one of those people who love storms. I love the feeling of something bigger than I am that I have no control over. I don't have to try and fix it. I can't do anything to stop it. It helps to remind me that the weather and God who created it are so much bigger and more powerful than I am.
On to the cards! The first card is one that I made for last week's CAS-ual Friday challenge to make a shaped card. I wasn't able to submit it, though, because we didn't have internet. I got the idea from a Papercraft magazine. I used my Cricut Wildcard cartridge to cut the card. I just bought my Cricut recently and have been searching for ways to use it in my stamping projects. I also plan to use it for bulletin boards at school:)

My second card is for the My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge 28. I stamped the You Rule ala Mode on white and colored her with Copics. I traced around her with an NO gray Copic to give her some dimension and make her stand out. Then I found this awesome ribbon in my stash with the alphabet on it! Perfect! Love it when that happens!! I used Circa 1934 dp and a Jenni Bowlin journaling spot. The ala Mode and the journaling spot are popped up. I'm starting to get the back to school bug! I'm thinking about new things that I want to do this year and how I want the room's design to be more functional for the kids:)

Celebrate Today!

Hello Friends! Just in time, I have my card for last Friday's CAS-ual Friday challenge. The challenge was to add a special edge to your card. My special edge is a scalloped edge cut with the medium scallop die from My Favorite Things. Obviously I'm still into red, white and blue and the Jenni Bowlin papers fit perfectly! The stars on the top were stamped and then punched out with a star punch. Then I punched a smaller star and added it to the center of the big star with a pop dot. The stars are actually popped up a bit from the card. I'm happy with how it turned out. I seem to be more of a CAS stamper all the time:)

Edited to add: DARN! I didn't read carefully and missed that the challenge cards needed to be in by Wednesday night!! And here I was sitting with it done on my desk!! Oh well, there's always next time:)
