Wow!! That's quite a room isn't it? Of course, as girly-girl goes, it's perfect. What I wouldn't have given to have a funky room like this when I was little! This photo is the inspiration shot for Crazy 4 Challenges #47 this week. Below is my take on the photo. I found the awesome digi image at Some Odd Girl. She's called "Heads in the Clouds Kaylee," and she seemed the perfect fit for this challenge. Don't you just love the sparkly rhinestone on her shoe? I imagine that this card would be a fun card for one girlfriend to give to another.....no matter how old they are!!

You are Fabulous!!
Hello! You know, sometimes when you're working with creativity you just have to go for it! All that is to say that these are not my typical colors, but I thought I'd give them I try. I figure if I don't push myself to try new things, I'll just get stuck in a rut and that's no fun! I just kept adding things to this card to make it "right." I was totally laughing. I was reminded of the first and second graders I teach who often think that MORE is BETTER. You know: more glue, more coloring, more sequins, more writing, more talking....so not true! So, I stopped and this card is the result. I hope you like it! Don't forget, YOU are FABULOUS!

Gardening
Hello!! It is a rainy, hot morning here in Illinois. Since I couldn't be out in my garden, I decided to bring the garden inside! Actually, I was trying to think of an idea to go with the JUGS color challenge this week that is navy, green, orange and cream. I was stuck until I remembered this great garden set I got from Stampin' UP several years ago! I think it's a perfect fit, if I do say so myself! I had lots of fun going on the internet to see what the flowers for each herb looked like. I know, sounds crazy, but I really enjoyed myself and learned about the herbs along the way.
I hope your day is filled with beautiful gardens and sunshine!

Ladybugs
Happy Wednesday!! Just in under the wire is my card for the Unity Hip Hop Sketch Challenge #16. I happen to just love ladybugs and, of course, the traditional black, red and white that goes with them. The ladybugs are popped up on dimensionals and look like they are going to fly right off the card!! Enjoy:)

So Grateful and Fly Free
Good Evening!!! Thanks so much to Pam and Lynn for following me! When I get a bit more tech savvy, I'll figure out how to actually email my followers to thank them.....but I can't right now:) It seems I would have to become a follower myself and THAT doesn't seem right!
I made this card for the Unity Addicts Challenge #9. Their challenge was a color challenge to use teal, orange and navy. I have to admit that the color combo wasn't a natural fit for me, so it took me a while to play with them. I decided to use the teal just as an accent. I'm loving the images from Unity that have designs within the stamped image like this bird does. The images seem so fresh and kind of funky!
The card below was one I made the other day when I felt that I really needed to "fly free." You know, one of those days when nothing seems right and you just want to take a pass on everything!?! I decided to make several cards and express my thoughts that way. Creating cards does that for me. Creating can take me to another place that is so much more peaceful and calm. I love the flow that happens when I'm just creating and not thinking about anything else. I sure hope that you get that feeling sometimes too. There's nothing like it!!
So Grateful

Welcome to Creative Happenings!
Hello! This is a place where I plan to share ideas, projects and thoughts on and about creativity. I am at heart a rubber stamper and much of what I share will be cards that I have made. Who knows what else will come up? I hope that you stick around to see!
My first project is stamped with a sentiment that is so important to me. I try to remind myself of it everyday.
See you soon!!
