You are a Winner!!

Wow! Two posts in one day! If I don't get this out tonight, I don't know when I will. Tomorrow is the first day of school for teachers. I am ready!! I am excited to start the new year with my students from last year and my new students! I am looping with my first grade class to second grade, plus I will be getting 6 new students.

For my card, I followed the sketch challenge at Simply Scrapping Crafts. You can see it below. I am enjoying all the carnival images that are out now for stampers. I've combined two stamp sets for this card. Don't you love those little star gems? I found them in my stash and was happy to have them:)
Have a great week!

A is for Apple

Happy Sunday! Today I'm playing along with the My Favorite Sketch Challenge for this week. I used my new Pure Innocence, Caramel Apple. My apple is more like a candy apple with its pink coating, lol! I made it shiny with some Diamond Glaze. I took some liberties with the sketch but I think that you can see it somewhere in the card:) I used an old favorite dp pad, Green at Heart, by Basicgrey. My sweet PI is popped up to add dimension and I added some flowers for a little something extra in the corner of the card.

Enjoy your day!!

1 is good, 2 is much better!

Good Morning! Today's card is just for fun! I enjoyed so many parts of this card. The first is the sentiment. It got me to thinking of things that are better in twos...like friends, pieces of chocolate, socks, mittens, and rainbows. I absolutely LOVE that the "two" in this card is a tandem bicycle! I also had fun with my mini ticket dienamic from My Favorite Things. You can see it by the sweet lace and flower. The flower is from my mom's stash! The color purple is a winner too! So much to like in one little card:)

You Rock!

Happy Friday and Friends with Flair!
Check out the Unity blog to see all the great cards!

Well, friends, you may have noticed that I am not blogging nearly as much as I did earlier in the summer. I'm a teacher and back to school, so that's the reason!! I plan on blogging more than once a week; there are several challenges that I like to play. The beginning of school can be the trickiest with time, so please bear with me as I make it through! That being said, I love to teach and I love to stamp....so I'm making sure this year that there will be plenty of time for BOTH:)

Today's card uses the August Sketch for You to Try. I've taken away and added some elements, but I think that you can basically see the sketch. The stamps, of course, are Unity and are from the July11 Kit of the Month. I've used Picket Fence dp by Lilybeedesign. I just LOVE that paper. It's all soft and pretty combinations, just my mood right now! I popped up the rocking chair, the mat underneath it and the six stars.

It was great to get inky again after some days off! I hope you enjoy it:)

You're my favorite chick

Happy Friday night! The weekend is here:) Isn't this little chick the cutest? She is a digi stamp from Tiffany Doodles. The sentiment is from Unity. Are you ready for this....the inside sentiment is "Happy Bird-Day!" Corny, I know, but I just loved this little chick and had to get her! This card follows the sketch challenge for CAS-ual Fridays and Clean and Simple Stamping. It also is for the Simply Stamping Crafts challenge to use a digi image.

My heart sings + blog candy winner!

Happy Friday and Friends with Flair!!
If you'd like to see all the wonderful creations, stop by Unity!

I've had this card in my head for quite a while! I used the fab image from the May 11 Kit of the Month by Unity. I don't remember who made this awesome tape, but I thought it matched perfectly! To color the heart, I used watercolor pencils and a blender pen from Stampin' UP. I didn't have the exact red I wanted, so I played with red and orange to get the color on the card.

Thank you for all your sweet comments this week! The random winner of my blog candy is
Jen from Jen's Cup of Creations!
Jen, please put your email in the comment section of this post and I'll email you to get your address!

Have an awesome weekend, everybody!!

Smile, everything is going to be okay.

Good Morning! When I made this card I had a BLAST using my new i rock tool. It heats up the little studs that you see everywhere on this card. That activates the glue attached to them and melts them to the card. SO much fun!!! The challenge for this card is the current My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge. The sketch was a bit hard for me in that I needed to use so many different dp strips. I pulled out an old favorite, Lemonade, by Basicgrey, to help me out. I want to play with this sketch again, perhaps using the same dp for the top three strips. We'll see:)

I hope that you have an awesome day!! It's shaping up to be a nice one in Northern Illinois!

I've got your back

Happy Sunday! Don't you just love the sweet little tandem bike? I used The Craft's Meow August Sketch Challenge for the design of my card. I flipped the sketch and took some liberties. I went for the shabby vintage look with my card. I love to play around with different styles and this was a fun one. I was inspired by Viola Mahr's samples from The Craft's Meow stamp release!

Hello! Today's card is for Unity's August Kit of the Month Sketch Challenge. I used an old favorite dp: Lemonade from Basicgrey. I paper pieced the flowers and popped the largest one up in layers. I LOVE doing that with Unity flowers:) The flowers (and sentiment) are from the July 11 KOM from Unity.

Happy Friday and Friends with Flair!

I'm loving this sweet birdhouses image from Unity's July 11 Kit of the Month! It was so much fun to color. Today I chose bright colors for a summery look. The side design is also from the July 11 KOM. The sentiment is Unity. It is from some goodies that I won, so I don't know what set it comes in.

And now for the BLOG CANDY! This summer marked my first year of blogging! I want to thank all my friends who follow my blog with a chance to win the following Unity stamp set:This set is called Photo Love. Altered Album Cover

Good Morning! I made an album about my black lab, Abby, and this is the cover. I've been "into" banners for a while now and I wanted to make one out of fabric. I just used Memento ink to stamp right on the fabric banners. To stamp on the denim album cover, I used acrylic paint. Acrylic paint works best for me when I put some paint on a small plastic tray and then use a sponge brush to put the paint right onto the stamp.

I plan to make more banners in the future, so stay tuned:) This altered album happens to fit with the current JUGS challenge to use fabric. I will also be linking this post with some linky parties on Saturday. They are lots of fun! Stop back if you want to see where they are, I'll add them to this post.

I'm linking to these fab linky parties:

Go with the Flow

Simply Scrapping Crafts' new challenge is to use GLITTER!! I'll admit that I reminded myself of my first and second graders when I made this card. They never know when to stop with glitter and apparently I don't either:) My cute little snail is by Tiffany Doodles, the sponsor of the challenge. It's a freebie, so be sure to go and grab it! The minute I saw the little guy I knew he would look great in multicolored blues and greens! Thank heavens for my Martha Stewart big box of glitter! I used Ippity by Unity's set Fishy Philosophy for the coral, seaweed and saying. Now I'm covered in glitter and so is my scrap area. So much FUN!!

What you see

Hello Friends! I love and need the sentiment on today's card! I put the card right on my dining room table so that I can see it every time I walk by. It's a good reminder for me!!

Today's card uses Unity stamps and is entered in the Unity Challenge to use circles and the Ippity Challenge to make a CAS (clean and simple) card. To make the card I first chose my center circle image from the May 11 KOM. I paper pieced the sweet little flower and added the sentiment from the Feb 11 KOM. After that I punched circles that were 3/4 inch, 1 inch, and 1 and 1/4 inch. I matted them together off-center and placed them in a line on the card. I drew a frame around my card with a skinny black marker. I used Circa 1934 from Cosmo Cricket for this card. Love those colors!!

I hope that you see lots of good things today!!
