never give up

Woo-hoo! My second post for the day!! This time I did the CPS challenge on time:) I like this sketch and enjoyed being able to use some scraps and a flower from my stash. The large sentiment is from Unity. Don't you just love it!?! I have this card in mind for a couple of friends who are going through a hard time. I want them to know that I'm thinking of them and pulling for them!!

sending birthday wishes

Hello! It's been so gray lately that I had to use some springy colors for my Crazy 4 Challenges card this week. (So gray and yucky, in fact, that my yellow is looking a bit greenish!) I used the CPS Sketch 206 from last week for my design. I had a fun time with this card, but I still think that something may be missing. Not sure what it is... More buttons by the sentiment? Ribbon? What do you think? I'd love to hear your ideas, so please share them in a comment!!

Have a great week!!

High Maintenance.....

Hello!!! It seems like forever since I posted, even though it was only a week! Crazy things were happening this past week for me, but all is good now and I'm ready to get scrappy:)

I made this card for the My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge. I used one of their new sentiments set that I just got and get a giggle out of every time I read the sentiments! I'm happy that I was able to find a purse brad in my stash to go with the sentiment. So fun!! I can't figure out when I'll use this card, but maybe I can give it to my husband sometime and write a note inside about a little treat I'd like him to get me, LOL!

Challenge: MFTWSC8
Stamp Set: Twisted Foursome: My Favorite Things
DP: Tiffany's: We R Memory Keepers
CS: Bright Pink
Extras: pink ribbon, flowers, purse brad, pink and black gems: Mark Richards, Spellbinders Label 4, scallop edge punch

Friends with Flair!

Edited to add: As I was looking through all the Unity Challenge cards, I realized that I forgot to link mine up!! I made this card with the challenge in mind!!

Happy Friday, Friends! One last valentine for me:) I received this adorable heart tree when I won the FWF blinkie prize a while back. I am in LOVE with this image...I searched for you and it is in the Unity set Love Birdies. The DP is Simple Valentine from Papertrey Ink, the ribbon is May Arts, and the Lush pink gems are from My Minds Eye. Yes, those gems are sparkly and very pink in real life!! I used my Copics RV 14, RV29, E33 and E37 to color the tree. Hope you enjoy it! AND NOW for the the good stuff:
Unity Flair!

You found it!! The FWF Blinkie. Best wishes to all of you. Make a comment and I will choose a random commenter to win an assorted set of 25 Unity stamps!! What a way to start the weekend! I will post the winner tomorrow morning!

Have a great day!

make a wish

Hello! Today's card is for the JUGS challenge to use the "spotlight" technique. I have to tell you that the green color on the cakes is actually yellow IRL! What's with that?!? The color combo works nicely without that wicked neon green there!! Can't wait to build that light box....

I enjoyed working on this card. I haven't used the spotlight technique recently and it was fun to do it again. I used one of my favorite retired sets from Stampin' UP, Simply Sweet. I added the layers, some prima flowers, gems and a sentiment from Mixed Messages by Papertrey Ink. I love this dp but I can't remember what company it's from. All I have are bits and pieces that I've hoarded for a while:)

This technique is making me itch for some great floral stamps to try it on. I really need them, don't I?

Have a great night! Tomorrow's Friday!!

I'm not usually able to coordinate the challenges like that:) Edited to add: So I guess it's not three challenges for me, but two, LOL! I used the Mojo Monday sketch for LAST week:)

Blogger Challenge and Mojo Monday Challenge

Hello! This is my first time trying the Blogger's Challenge. The challenge was to use black, white and red. Because I LOVE valentines, that's what I made. I'll have to give this to someone special, because I really do LOVE chocolate:) I stamped the heart background from Simple Valentine by Papertrey Ink. Then I added the scalloped strip. Next I stamped the label from Unity's Jan 11 KOM. I popped it up on pop dots. I added a heart and the sentiment last.

My next card is for the Mojo Monday Challenge. Another valentine, of course! This was a fun sketch to try. I enjoyed the curved line and was challenged to try something new! The DP is from We R Memory Keepers and the hearts are cut from the same paper. The circle embellishment is made from Papertrey Ink's 1 3/4 circle die cut collection. I used Papertrey Ink's Simple Valentine stamp set to add the heart and sentiment. Pearls finished the card!

Have a great week!!

Papertrey Ink Favorite from the year

Hello! Papertrey Ink is celebrating their anniversary with a contest. To enter you need to pick a favorite Papertrey Ink project and post or repost it to your blog. I made this card with true inspiration from Mish, one of the Papertrey DT members. I just LOVE her style. Hope you're having a warm and happy weekend!

Friends with Flair

Hello Unity Friends! First, I have a CAS valentine to share with you. I used the December 10 KOM image and my favorite red, white and black. Another try at my Bow Easy and some glitter on the heart and I was done! Below I have two other cards. One is awaiting a sentiment and uses images from the Dec 10 KOM. The other is a sympathy card using Insightful Meadows and a January 11 KOM sentiment.

Snow day = Stamp day!!

Hello, Friends! Here are a few pictures from the snowy Midwest!! The snow in my garage came in UNDER a small gap in the door when it was closed. The back slider can't be opened for my dog, Abby, but then she couldn't navigate the backyard either! Even though she's a black Lab, the drifts in the back are 4 feet high straight across the yard. The great news in all this is that I had some extra time to stamp and participate in challenges:) Also, I actually LOVE a good storm and this one was a doozy!

My first card is for the Get Sketchy Challenge this week. I struggled with the design. I originally thought I'd create a pocket with a pull-out tag, but that wasn't happening today. Instead, I just made a focal image and relied on the cute DP to carry the card:)

My next card is for the CPS Challenge this week. Again, my mojo hit a rough spot, but I think the end result is fine! Anyway, I had lots of fun creating. More tomorrow!! It's another snow day for my school because of the bad roads and predicted LOW windchills.

Stay warm and be safe!!
